  1. GUI: Graphical User Interface.

  4. Front-End: Front-end or client-side development basically is anything you see of a website in a browser, animations, pictures, text, colors, forms, ... etc. It’s simply your website design transformed into a web shaped pages.
  5. Back-End: is the engine that runs your website, the database connections, and the algorithms make the informative structure of your website work. Back-End or Server-Side development is the actual part which makes your website a system.
  6. Wireframe: A website wireframe, also known as a page schematic or screen blueprint, is a visual guide that represents the skeletal framework of a website, which is created by user experience professionals called "interaction designers".
  7. Accessibility: Web accessibility means that people with disabilities can use the Web. More specifically, Web accessibility means that people with disabilities can perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with the Web, and that they can contribute to the Web. Web accessibility also benefits others, including older people with changing abilities due to aging.
  8. Usability Testing: is a technique used in user-centered interaction design to evaluate a product by testing it on users.
  9. Domain Name: as defined by Wikipedia, Domain Names are series of alphanumeric strings separated by periods, such as www.megillion.com, serving as an address for a computer network, or a website.
  10. Web Hosting: is a service that runs web servers, allowing organizations and individuals to serve content to the Internet, by keeping their websites and systems on their servers. There are various levels of service and various kinds of services offered, and deciding which service to take depends on your website needs.
  11. URL: Uniform (or universal) resource locator, the address of a World Wide Web page.
  12. E-commerce Site: is a virtual "shop window" that lets your visitors see your products from the comfort of their own home, and enables them to buy these products remotely from their homes.
  13. SMM: Social Media Marketing.
  14. SEM: Search Engine Marketing.
  15. PPC: Pay Per Click, which is a form of Search Engine Marketing that provides you a simple way to target and get charged by your audience.
  16. SEO: Search Engine Optimization.
  17. Keywords: are the words that your website’s focuses on, which used to reveal the site’s content to Search Engines. Determining your keywords is a very base process in SEO Campaigns.
  18. SE Indexing: Search engine indexing is the procedure search engines do to collect, pars, and store the data in your site, to facilitate fast and accurate information retrieval for their users.
  19. Search Spiders/Crawlers: A Web crawler or spider is an Internet bot (robot) that systematically browses the World Wide Web, typically for the purpose of Web indexing.
  20. HTML and XHTML: (Extensible) HyperText Markup Language, which is the main markup language for creating web pages and other information that can be displayed in a web browser.
  21. Microformats: Microformats are small patterns of HTML to represent commonly published things like people, events, blog posts, reviews and tags in web pages.
  22. Dublin Core: Is a set of standard metadata elements used to describe the contents of a website. It can help with some internal search engines and it does not bloat your code
  23. On-Page Optimization: A form of SEO where you focus on anything on your site, starting from links and hyperlinks to images and content.
  24. Off-Page Optimization: A form of SEO where it includes all the activities you do outside the pages of your website to rank high in search results
  25. W3C Markup Validation: The Markup Validation Service is a validator by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) that allows Internet users to check HTML and XHTML documents for well-formed markup.
  26. Viewport Tag: A simple meta tag instructs mobile devices what scale and dimensions to use to display a page, so that users can be instantly greeted with a properly scaled page where they can immediately start reading and consuming your information without zooming.
  27. XML Sitemap: A list of pages you want the Search Engines to find which is created in XML format and submitted to the Search Engines.
  28. Alt Attribute: An attribute used in HTML images tag to provide an alternative text in case the image was missing. This is a very important attribute in SEO.
  29. Canonical Tag: A tag used by search engine crawlers/spiders to tell search engines what URL is the original version of your webpage.
  30. SERP: Search Engine Results Page.
